New Projects at CHS

Work on the third installment of Bad Reputation is underway, with basic tracks for 12 new songs being recorded at California Hill Studios starting mid-April.

A new album is also on the way by new project, Body Kite, recorded over the last two years at California Hill Studios. Body Kite is an experimental, improvised music project with a cast of characters featuring Gerald Menke on guitar, Dan Menke on drums,  Emily Tomato on keyboards and vocals, Pierre Pomme de Terre on guitar and bass, and Genevieve Pomme de Terre on keyboards and Yoko vocals.

Announcing a new Open Kimono 3-song EP coming soon, featuring these tracks: Big Flag, How the Virus Can Unite Us, and Explaining Socialism. Fans of explicitly political, well-crafted pop stay tuned.

Pierre is currently at work composing the music for a dance performance for Putnam County Dance Project taking place at Arts on the Lake on June 12, as part of Global Water Dances.

And work continues on the third Shrimps album recorded at California Hill Studios. Simon and Marcus Benjamin wrote all the songs, played all the guitars and keyboards and vocals, with Pierre de Gaillande producing and engineering and playing bass, and Chris Stromquist on drums and mixing. We are currently finishing the final mixes and planning a livestream show from California Hill on April 24th. Don't miss it!
